Elliot Fitch has always loved his beautiful, loving wife Karen. She confesses, in the final hours of her life, that he is not the biological father of their beautiful sixteen year old daughter Elena. Elliot is angry, heartbroken and confused. Elliot is Elena's father no matter what.

Let fast- forward...

Elena is now seventeen and announces her unplanned pregnancy. The father wants nothing to do this child. Elliot knows he has to help his daughter in her time of need. How can he do this with his new found opinion on love and trust? There's the emotional roller-coaster of life and the future.

Morgan Parker is a successful contemporary romance author. This book took me into so many mixed emotions. Some words that I use to describe are: POWERFUL, MESMERIZING, ASTOUNDING, HONEST and REMARKABLE. This writer has an amazing gift on telling a story. He makes you want to hug him, cry and yell. Morgan has mastered how to grab you in and make you pant for more. This story's characters make you feel. I mean actually feel how life can change in a drop of a dime. He also has an amazing writing style, the way the story flows and words he uses to describe this, captivated me straight to my inner soul. Surviving Goodbye will always be a favorite novel of mine and will be re-read time after time. I enjoyed this emotional ride and I am raving about this book. I would like to thank Morgan for the amazing stories he gives his readers. The more he keeps writing, I will keep reading! He is one of my all time favorite story tellers. I give this novel a 5 out 5 stars

Elliot loved his wife with all that he had. That is, until he finds out (on her death bed) that their daughter, Elena... his daughter... isn't his biological child. This isn't a piece of information that you recover from. Everything that he knew is seen through different eyes and felt through a changed heart. If that wasn't enough, Elena finds out she's pregnant and the baby's father wants no part in his new role as 'father'. Elliot has to step up and be there for Elena, all while trying to put the pieces together of who her 'real' father is.

This book is about what happens when you get betrayed by the person you least expected it from. How do you recover from that? The short answer... you don't give up. You learn to adapt and hopefully, keep moving forward. Morgan Parker tells a story of when trust and loyalty are broken, but you come out in the end happy to have taken the journey. Even with such a serious topic, there are still moments that make you smile and maybe even laugh a little. That's Morgan's gift as an author. He seamlessly stitches together ideas in such a way that opens your heart and mind.
